Textile industry body wants calibrated cotton exports |

Cotton exports need to be calibrated so that our best cotton is available to the domestic industry and does not go to major competitors such as China, Pakistan and Bangladesh, the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) has argued. In a presentation on the cotton economy made recently to Dr C. Rangarajan and Dr Soumitra Choudhary in New Delhi, the CITI Chairman, Mr Shishir Jaipuria, had demanded that only exportable surplus should be allowed for shipment overseas, that too at equal monthly installments during the peak arrival season from October to March.....Read more
