Increase in US imports of Apprel and Textiles- Recent data on Imports of Apparels & Terxtiles in US , published by OTEXA for the Year-to-Date (YTD) October 2011 have shown increment of  10.13% in value term (US $ Millions) depite the volume contraction of 2.32% (Square Metre Equivalent)  over same period of 2010.

US imports of Apparel and Textiles from India :  US imports of Total Textiles and Apparel from India increased by  11.6% , notably 8.95% of positive growth for Apparel and while 15.33%  growth  for non-apparel category, in value terms terms during January -October 2011 over same period of 2010.  However this growth is small , of around 2.51 % for overall textiles and apparel imports in volume terms due to low demand and surge in prices due to rise in input prices especially in cotton segment.
