  Nigeria: N20bn Textile Fund Dormant, Says Minister

  Tunisian companies to take part in 2010 “Work wear and Clothing Show” in UK

  Pakistan: Textile City project halted due to non-release of funds for water lines

  Ghana: Akosombo Textile Limited appeals to TOR for regular supply of black oil

  Management of Akosombo Textile Limited (ATL) has appealed to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) for regular supply of black oil to enable the factory to produce at full capacity. Mr Kweku Asare- Omenako, Administrative Manager of ATL, said irregular supply of black oil was affecting operations of the company, adding that, they required 54,000 litres of the commodity daily to ensure normal production.....Read more...

  Thailand: Few SMEs ready to branch out into Asean

  Only 10% of Thai small and medium enterprises are ready to expand into the Asean region, says Arthit Wuthikaro, director-general of the Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP). On a macro scale, Thai SMEs need to adapt to become Asean SMEs and seek co-operation that will benefit one another.   China's textile, garment exports up 2.2% in Jan

  Philippine: Gov‘t introduces improved fiber

  Tunisia: Textile, still buoyant sector in spite of crisis

  Industry and Technology Minister Afif Chelbi said, on Thursday at the closing of the annual seminar on "Textile-Clothing, 2010 National and International Juncture and Prospects," that Tunisia managed in 2009 to overcome the difficulties resulting from the international crisis. He added that textile-clothing is still the first exporting manufacturing sector, which represents 36% of the manufactured exports, at a value of nearly 3 billion euros, and 40% of the manufacturing industries jobs.....Read more....

  Pakistan: MoC fails to allow KCA hedge trading: Textile Ministry to allow hedge trading

  The Ministry of Textile Industry should allow resumption of hedge trading of cotton through the floor of Karachi Cotton Exchange (KCE) to safeguard the interest of all segments of cotton economy.
