September 19, 2009, New Delhi - The Committee of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) at its meeting held on September 18, 2009 unanimously elected Shri Shishir Jaipuria as Chairman, Shri S.V. Arumugam as Deputy Chairman and Shri Prem Malik as Vice Chairman of CITI for the year 2009-10.
   
 
Shri Shishir Jaipuria M. Com., L.L.B. is an eminent industrialist having nearly 25 years of experience in managing companies. Presently he has business interest in Textiles and Education.

He is Managing Director of Ginni Filaments Ltd., a 100% Export Oriented Unit, producing combed cotton yarn and knit fabrics from state of the art imported machines. It has also commissioned a state of the art non-woven and converting plant.

Presently he is Chairman of FICCI's Sub Group on Textiles, Chairman of FICCI's Task Force on Technical Textiles and Deputy Chairman of Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA).

He is also Vice-President of Seth Anandram Jaipuria Education Society, which runs Schools in Kanpur and Ghaziabad and a Management Institute at Ghaziabad. He is also associated with various Societies and Trusts rendering philanthropic activities.

Mr. S. V. Arumugam, is a Chartered Accountant. He is the Managing Director of Bannari Amman Spinning Mills Ltd., Coimbatore which is major producer and exporter of cotton yarn. He is also a Director in Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd., Coimbatore and Shiva Texyarn Ltd., Coimbatore. Shri Arumugam is a Trustee in Bannari Amman Educational Trust, Sathyamangalam and Honorary Secretary of Indian Wind Power Association, Chennai. He is a Past Chairman of SIMA, Coimbatore and Confederation of Indian Industry, Coimbatore Zone.

Mr. Prem Malik is currently running a Management Consultancy in Textiles and also engaged in textile exports. He has a work experience of over 43 years at Top Management level with the companies like Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Mafatlal Industries Ltd.

He is on the main board of several major textile companies and is associated with various textile organizations. He is currently Chairman, (BTRA) Bombay Textiles Research Association, Mumbai, Managing Committee member of (SRTEPC), Synthetic and Rayon Export Promotions Council of India and a Director of Cotton Association of India. Shri Prem Malik is the Immediate Past Chairman of Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) and a former Deputy Chairman of SRTEPC.
