| Recognising
the valuable experience that ICMF-CDRA
has gained over in field of cotton
promotion, the Ministry of Agriculture
has allocated Rs.35 lakh to ICMF
CDRA for taking up the prestigious
projects on Front Line Demonstrations
(FLDs) on cotton production technologies
under Mini Mission II of TMC in
the States of Maharashtra, Gujarat
and M.P. The amount will be made
available through the Cotton Corporation
of India (CCI), which has been
nominated as the nodal agency
for distribution of funds to now
governmental organizations under
Mini Mission II of the Technology
Mission of Cotton. Central Institute
for Cotton Research (CICR), Nagpur,
BA College of Agriculture, Anand
(Gujarat) and JN Krishi Vishwa
Vidyalaya, Khandwa (M.P.) have
agreed to provide technical assistance
for the implementation of the
projects in the respective states.
Imparting training to farmers
to adopt Best Management Practices
BMPs) and distribution of high
quality cotton seeds and other
inputs to farmers for producing
superior quality of cotton would
also be covered by the projects. |
